On Saturday Morning, June 10th, at approximatey 3:00 AM, a fire was alledgedly started by drug users (crack) in the backyard of a house that is adjacent to the Rectory.
The fire destroyed the both our neighbor’s garage and the parish’s tool shed and garage.
In the tool shed were many of the tools that were purchased recently and were being used to repair our already damaged property. Also, almost all of the base boards and wood moldings from the first floor were being stored in the shed.
In the garage was Chris Quest’s Jeep Cherokee. Inside his Jeep were several of his personal items. (We are morning the loss of a pair of Air Jordan Gym Shoes and at least 4 pairs of very nice and expensive shoes. Funeral Arrangements are pending. However, we are confident that they are now in Shoe Heaven. Before the fire, Chris made sure that each of their soul-soles were well kept.)
Chris, Fr. Tony and 23 other members of the parish were away in Leesville working at Camp Pelican.
Luckily, no one was hurt by the fire. But, Chris’ car is a total loss.
